There are 2 sizes of Apple Watch bands or wrist strap to choose from; the 38/40/41mm and the 42/44/45mm.

 To tell which size is the right one, look at the back of your Apple Watch Device or the packaging box it came in.

Every Apple Watch has an engraving on the back. This informs which Series of Apple Watch and the size of the case.

To view the sizes engraved on your Apple Watch, simply remove your Apple Watch from your wrist and look at the back of the Apple Watch. 

Size is in millimeter (mm) as circled.
